MYPAS is recruiting. Family Counsellors in East Lothian and Midlothian

Due to recent funding successes MYPAS now has two posts available for experienced Counsellors as part of our Family Counselling Service.

MYPAS has been awarded funding from the Midlothian Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Supports & Services Framework to deliver Family Counselling with young people (12-18 years of age) and their families. MYPAS is recruiting a 25 hours a week Family Counsellor to deliver this work.

MYPAS has been awarded funding from East Lothian Council on an initial one year pilot basis to deliver Family Counselling with young people (12-18 years of age) and their families. MYPAS is recruiting a full time Family Counsellor to deliver this work.

The postholders will be responsible for providing Family Counselling with young people aged 12-18, and their families, within a holistic service. Qualified to Diploma level (or equivalent) in a counselling therapeutic discipline is required. In addition the postholders should have membership of a relevant professional body (BACP/UKCP/ NCS/BPS/AFT (Association for Family Practice and Systemic Practice) and have experience of working both with young people and also with families. The postholders will also be committed to delivering a service according to best practice and within community settings. The postholders will work within a multi-disciplinary service and work effectively with other agencies in partnership settings. Contributing to the wider MYPAS service, the postholders will ensure that young people are worked with using a holistic approach through effectively linking the work of the Therapies team with other areas of MYPAS’ work as well as that of partner organisations.

These posts may require evening and occasional weekend work.
