Funding for continuation of support to LGBT+ young people

MYPAS have received £12,647 from The National Lottery Community Fund to provide online one to one and groupwork support to LGBT+ young people in East Lothian and Midlothian to improve their health and wellbeing.

MYPAS already have a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to run a weekly group and provide individual support to LGBT+ young people in Midlothian. This additional money will cover costs associated with their community response to the current crisis and enable them to expand the service to East Lothian.

Dave Evans, Manager at MYPAS said: “in these difficult times it is great that we can continue to provide support to LGBT+ young people, many of who will be suffering isolation and poor mental health, by using online support techniques to provide crucial support while following government social distancing guidelines. We could only provide these services through the provision of funds from the National Lottery and we are grateful for their support”
